Tamron made an optional accessory 1:1 extension tube for this lens. Alternatively you can achieve 1:1 macro with good performance by using either a Tamron SP 2x converter, a Kiron 7 element 2x converter, or a Tokina 7 element 2x converter. Optimal aperture at all focus distances down to 1:4 is F/8. Optimal aperture between 1:4 and 1:1 is F/11.
